History of the manuscript titled "Sobornik slov" by Daniel metropolitan of Moscow

Annotation

This research is devoted to the one of the most important theological compositions of the Medieval Russia - "Sobornik slov" by metropolitan Daniel of Moscow. Daniel was a student of Joseph of Volokolamsk and held the metropolitan department from 1522 to 1539. He was a famous figure in the party of the Josephites. He was a talented writer of the first half of the 16th century. He wrote more than 60 works devoted to the different theological and social issues. But today in Russian historical science there are no any researchs devoted to the works of the metropolitan. The author of this work for the first time explores the entire range of preserved manuscripts of the largest works of Daniel - "Sobornik slov". The author's goal is to reveal the artistic history of the emergence and development of this manuscript tradition. We used all the known lists of of this manuscript. The author has established the creation of manuscripts and defined the basic circumstances of their origin. The comparison of the lists allowed to identify the main editorial work and set lists, which are not known to scientists. It contains important information on the history of Russian social thought of the first half of the XVI century, and therefore it needs of additional research.
