Czechoslovak military case: documents and materials

Annotation

In recent years a lot and many authors write a lot about the Czechoslovak military corps, its history, about the role that he played in the events of the World War I and Civil War in Russia. For a long time in the study of these issues historians have not had the opportunity to study the sources in full, and only when, with many archival documents cleared secrecy, the opportunity of conducting deep analysis, panoramic vision of the events of World War I, Civil War, including those connected with the history of the Czechoslovak corps. It became necessary to reconsider once the conclusions and evaluations, to make adjustments. Requires a rethink and understand the drama of that era, in particular, the place and role of the Czechoslovak army corps in the events of those years. The main purpose of this study was the identification, collection, processing, examination of documents and materials on the history of formation and peculiarities of functioning of the Czechoslovak corps, which played a role, as in the history of World War I, and in the history of the Civil war in the East of Russia. In the summer of 1918, the case together with the anti-Bolshevik armed units mutinied and actually liberated from the Bolsheviks territory of the Volga region, the Urals, Siberia and the Far East. Soviet historians traditionally accused the Czechoslovaks in the betrayal, considering that the Czechs contributed to the outbreak of the Civil War in Russia. Unfortunately, it is somewhat complicates the process of objective historical knowledge of the role played corps in World War I and the Russian revolutionary events. In this situation extremely important to appeal to archival documents, periodicals, memoirs of participants in the events.
