Annotation

The history of «Kursk historical-archeological and handicraft museum in memory of the visit of his Imperial Majesty Nicholas Alexandrovich of Kursk city in 1902» is shown on the basis of the archival documents. The museum was founded on the initiative of the governor N.N. Gordeev. The Emperor Nicholas II became the first patron of the museum, the patron - Grand Prince Mikhail Alexandrovich. The wife of the governor - treasurer of the Martha-Mariinskoy abode was a friend of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna.
