Annotation
The article assesses problems of local history, source studies, document science, archival science and archaeography covered in the last five editions of the academic information year book "Herald of Voronezh archivist" (Vol. 6-10, 2008-2012) published by the Culture and Archiving Department of the Voronezh region and by the regional branch of the Russian society of Historians and Archivists. The purpose of the article is to analyze the contribution of the Voronezh historians and archivists to the development of regional studies in the said areas in the five-year period and to sum up the real-life experience of the Voronezh archives in acquiring fonds, introducing advanced information technologies and improving the finding aids, preservation of archival documents and their popularization, to assess cooperation of archivists with universities, institutions and public organizations of the region. The article also points up events of scientific and social life of the city, either initiated by Voronezh archivists or in which they are a party. These include scientific conferences and round tables, both international (a testimony of the growing interest of foreign colleagues to region’s documentary heritage) and regional. Having analyzed the papers of the last five editions of "Herald of Voronezh Archivist", the author concludes that the representativeness of academic information year book is considerable, as well as notes that from issue to issue there is a tendency of increasing the page-count of publications, of widening of the topics and of introduction into the scientific circulation of new documents from the fonds of both Voronezh and central archives.
