Journals of Ceremonial affairs (department) as historical source of the ceremonial life of the Russian Imperial Court in 1744–1796’s

Annotation

The article deals with the Journals of Ceremonial affairs (department) of the Collegium Foreign Affairs 1744-1796. Archival documents represent the diary records of events that bound in books and certaain documents in a year or two years relating to activity of ceremonial part of the Collegium Foreign Affairs, that at first was named “Ceremonial affairs”, and in 1779 was named “Ceremonial department”. The value of the Journals as a historical source is demonstrated by the history of Ceremonial affairs and the ceremonial diplomatic life of the Russian imperial Court.
