Annotation

In this article it is offered to consider two scientific reports of staff of bureau on studying of separate buildings of Research institute of railway construction and Narkomat's design of means of communication in which descriptions of constructions of the strategic railroads Germany and Russia in the years of World War I are given and by which production very high rates were reached as historical sources. Collecting, studying and scientific synthesis of experience of construction of strategic railway lines in the years of World War I were tasks of researchers. As object of studying experiment of the German experts on construction of new railway lines on the western and east battlefield and experience of construction of the Murmansk railroad in the Russian Empire was taken. On one of considered reports earlier it wasn't made full technical reports and authors had to study available at their order for that period not numerous literature. In the first report in the list of references only 2 works, and in the second – 20 appear. Tables, schedules and photos are attached to reports. Consideration of research reports as historical sources once again confirms existing opinion on need of use of scientific and technical documentation in historical researches.
