Source studies problems of World War I: the regional aspect
Annotation
This article is devoted to the analysis of periodicals from the collections of the Saratov Regional universal library and the Zonal scientific library V.A. Artisevich of National research Saratov state University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky as source base of the studying of World War I. In modern conditions the representatives of the historical science is limited in his scientific activity. In this situation a wide scope and perspective for research opens periodicals, which can replace, and sometimes to fill in the missing part of the archival material. Almost all publications of World War I published the government's decision, news from the theatre of operations, information about the heroes, the opinions of the representatives of different layers of society to the war and its consequences, provided their area under the Declaration concerning the organization of assistance to the front, and the population is left without breadwinners. Famous journalists, economists, policy on the pages of Newspapers and magazines impartially analyze the state of the economy, public opinion had forecast the further developments. All this material has become a real source for the modern researchers.
